Cultural Performances
Two days of colorful, traditional dances and music to showcase the performance arts of Asia. Asian dances range from the ceremonial to the theatrical and are as varied as the colours on the performers’ authentic costumes!
Asian music also is quite varied. Each country has its own indelible sound even though the instruments are rather similar. From the mesmerizing sound of the Chinese flute to the energetic Taiko drumming, Asian music with its pentatonic melody sounds exotic to ears accustomed to the diatonic Western scale.
New to this year’s entertainment line-up is a Circus Manduhai where native Mongolians will perform the ancient art of foot and hand juggling and other balancing acts!

Martial Arts
If your idea of martial arts starts with Bruce Lee's kung fu kicks and ends with the stylized moves of "The Matrix," think again!
Throughout Asia, martial arts were practiced for their disciplinary, spiritual and combative values. There are approximately 200 unique martial art forms, each with its own distinct historical and cultural value. In the United States, the most popular and well-known forms are karate, judo, jung fu and tae kwon do.
Join us for a sampling of what is being practiced in Minnesota!
